Wooden Blocks for the Construction of a Grand Monstrous Star
The wood used in the blocks was treated to prevent the decay of the wood. They were cut and boiled for three years. Blocks were placed in the shade and exposed to the wind for three years before they were ready to be carved. After each block was carved, it was covered in a poisonous lacquer to keep insects away and then framed with metal to prevent warping.

The Koreana is a collection of 81,258 printing blocks that were carved in the 1200s. The workmanship is of the highest quality. The blocks are the most complete, with more than 52,000,000 characters and 6,568 volumes.
